La Piedad is located in the north -west Mexican state of Michoacan boarding the states of Jalisco and the state of Guanajuato.Original colonial name was San Sebastian .It is bordered by the town of Santa Ana Pacueco, Guanajuato. Both towns are close to the Lerma River.The city of La Piedad population was 78,361 inhabitants in the 2005 . The municipality has an area of 284.11 km² (109.7 sq mi) and its population was 91,132. La Piedad Michoacan is know for it beautiful down town and for the quiosco(bandstand)where every Sunday different bands go and play there songs after the people are done hearing church.
